Running Norton AV 2002, I am getting the above mentioned virus, but when I follow the instructions to remove as posted by Symantec, I find none of the registry values or files I am supposed to delete.

Suggestions? I tried using the Trend Micro online scan, but detected nothing. Norton only detects when the virus tries to do something.

its cool if the registry entries arent there, that means either half your job is done, or it is being started another way, pandasoftware.com and symantec.com as well as antivirus.com have virus removal utilites, you can also checkout www.f-prot.org download their dos virus scanner (FREE!) i use it all the time, scan your system (assuming you have win9x, this version doesnt support long filenames) and you can have it delete the files in dos, tho the reason why it might not be seen is because the virus is joining irc channels to get the info it needs to DDoS other IP's so it may not detect mIRC or other IRC clients, since they arent virus/worm/trojan/ect programs you would need to find them on your pc and remove them, www.systernals.com they have a process viewer that can terminate the programs, but remember the names and delete them from your system by searching for the files, but be careful what you delete
