Unable to remove Klez virus

Hi, I'm trying to get Klez off of my computer. Last weekend I went to a lan party and I think somehow the virus got in through one of my shared folders. Norton detected a couple instances of the virus with its autoprotect feature. I downloaded the removal tools from both Mcafee and Norton and they said nothing was there. I also ran a couple more sweeps of my drives. Still nothing. But today Norton detected a couple more instances of the Klez.H virus. However, the removal tools still say negative. I haven't downloaded anything or opened any questionable e-mail so I'm kind of miffed on how this is happening. Has this happened to anyone before, should I just reformat?

Windows XP Pro btw.

Klez kills antivirus software.

Remove your antivirus software, reboot, run the removal tool then reinstall your antivirus & do a full scan.
