Heat best radiates from sharp, pointed edges. Its been proven that heat forms hotspots on jagged edges, thereby making a focused locus of heat. Smooth edges allow the heat to flow smoothly along the surface of the medium.
Imperfections I reckon will therefore form hotspots on the cpu. Does anyone know of any way to fill them in with some sort of epoxy/plastic filler so as to eliminate hotspots?
Of course, if the entire core is cracked this likely will not be of much help.
