unable to log onto hotmail account

I get to the login page, add my username and password and it just sits there and then says the usual "page cannot be displayed". I know my login and password are right (hotmail works fine at my work) I've reinstalled IE and my modem drivers. I'm on dialup. It's like some port is being blocked. I tried turning off Zone Alarm also. Someone told me something about a proxy setting, but i don't know much about that. Any thoughts?
 
I was just looking around for a post on this. I can't even get to the Hotmail page. Looks like ol' Hotmail may be having some problems.
 
You could install the Sun Java2 stuff from http://www.java.com if you want Java capabilities. But that doesn't really explain your Hotmail weirdness. Maybe clear all your cache and cookies?
 
It seems the past few weeks that MSN, Hotmail, etc. have been having issues. I read something about it last week somewhere.
For me, I can get in one minute and can't the next. 😕
 
True, BUT.. i can't download and nothing with a Java Applet will work. It's like some port is blocked or something. Im still on dialup (if I haven't mentioned that already...
