I have recently purchased a WD 200Gig SATA and am trying to install Windows XP in my Shuttle SN85G4 V2.

Now, its recognised within boot up as SCSI drive but when CD boots Windows cannot find any storage devices. I have also tried to get the required driver off of the SHUTTLE website but to no avail. Can anyone help find the correct drivers?

They have SATA RAID driver but that's bigger than the floppy.

Inside those drivers is a file called InstallRaid.exe or something like that. You don't need it. So download the drivers, unzip them, and copy everything but that exe to a floppy. Boot off the CD, hit F6 at the prompt, put in the floppy. It should the recognize your new controller.

Ok... aside from ditching the floppy...
Why does the WinXP install not see the hard drive once the SATA drivers are installed (from the floppy). I can run the maxtor format utility sucessfully to partition the drive. Everything appears to be in order...

I have a Shuttle SB65G2 and installed a WDC 200GB Sata fine without pressing F6. Try updating your bios to the lastest. Or try going into the bios and set the Sata drive to Enchance Mode.

Don't know why so many are quick to ditch the floppy. Obselete or not, its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
