Question Unable to install Win updates

Hey all, I've been able to install updates in the past, but they're now failing. I'm trying to install KB5001330 and keep getting error code 0x8007000d. I've tried:

1. Downloading the standalone installer - still fails
2. Resetting / restarting Win Update componets
3. Running DISM and SFC
4. Doing a clean boot with services and a/v off

Any ideas on what else I could try before reinstalling Win?

Google:

How to fix Windows Update using Troubleshooter
  1. Open Settings > Update & Security.
  2. Click on Troubleshoot.
  3. Click on 'Additional Troubleshooters' and select "Windows Update" option and click on Run the troubleshooter button.
  4. Once done, you can close the Troubleshooter and check for updates.

Sorry, should’ve added that one - tried it multiple times - first time it found an error and fixed it, but I still couldn’t install updates. Subsequent times running the troubleshooter doesn’t do / show anything.

That is how it ends. Seen it on a friend's rig, seen it on one of mine.

A Full fresh re-installation of Win10 is really (seemingly, to me) the only real way to fix it. (Back up your documents, pictures, downloads, data, first to a USB HDD.)

I know it's late, but which version of OS are you running? 1909, 2004, 20H2? Are you installing the correct patch manually vs trying to install via AU? Have you trieds deleting everything in the softwaredistribution folder and rebooting?

I experience massive slowdowns everytime Win 10 is updated. It takes about 2 days for this slowed down PC to really complete the update. Then it acts normal again. Well, the latest update was the worst slowdown so far, it was not clearing. Powered up my computer this morning and attempted to launch Edge. Nothing!. Looking in the Task Manager, found only a small instance of it running.
Went to Apps, to Edge, selected Modify which brought up a Repair prompt. Hell yea! It ran and guess what? My computer is running at it's normal speed again. Hope this is the fix forever, or for the next time my PC is crawling after an update.
