I have a win98 machine with dial up networking. I can dial up the isp and connect but when I ping or use any other tcp/ip function, I get:
"unable to initialize windows sockets error code 0"
I uninstalled tcp/ip, reinstalled, extraced winsock.dll & wsock32.dll off the cd to try and fix but no luck. I ran into this problem a while ago and it seems there were some files with the .386 or .vxd extension that I needed to delete, but of course micro$ofts web site is not helpful. The only reference they have to this error is Windows for workgroups.
Any other ideas short of reinstalling windows?
