Unable to go online on windows XP

After the install everything worked fine .. then couple of days later I could not get online .. !
I opened the event logger and I saw a bunch of error messages while loading !
I have cable modem so winxp automatically detected my IP and all the other stuff.
Even if I do release and I do renew ?. It does not work .. even though it shows my IP address !! and that I am connected !!
I am logged in as administrator?and everything works fine when I boot into win2k !!

3com ... my connection was working till it suddenly stoped working !

Did you release and renew your ip through winipcfg? I did and I got my connection back.

On some cable connections, you may have to reset the cable modem.

Go look in the back and see of the lights are on on the NIC.. Mine were out.. and they never came back on every again. I'm using a new NIC now =\

If youre using build 2475, thats your problem. Get a newer build if so.
