unable to get sli card to work on nvidia gtx 1080

Working on a new computer for my brother build and trying to connect sli to work and getting following error with everything hooked up connect to graphics card with sli connector.

the cards are connected with HB SLI Bridge that came with ASUS Strix z270e gaming motherboard.

All I can see is active is disable button in the NVIDIA control panel which is connected two 2 GTX 1080p.

Let me get this thread started for ques and feedback TIA!
 
Well after going through all the problems that could be sli related I told my brother that he needed new bridge as it was saying it was not connected he said it started working after he turned the bridge around as he was the one who installed it in the first place and the problem was finally gone.
I did see one problem that I fixed which was keeping his steam from auto logging on at startup and I got the message about sli after reinstalling the NVIDIA driver with a fresh install I forget the actual wording that that uses.
