Unable to create or send messages in Microsoft Outlook

Somehow I'm unable to create or send messages in Microsoft Outlook. The message window disappears off the desktop once I open it, eventhough I see that I have it open on the taskbar. Any advice or even a temporary workaround solution so I can respond to emails? Tried rebooting the computer and it didn't help. There is no error message and nothing out of the ordinary was done prior to this happening. The computer is using Windows 2000 I think and Microsoft Office 2003 is installed I think. I know it's probably more of a Windows problem than an Outlook problem but I've tried searching google and no luck yet.

Click on the task button a couple times so you can see the animation of the window going off the screen so you know what side its on. Then hit Alt + space... then M. Then hold down the left or the right arrow based on which side it was on to move it back onto the primary monitor.

It may be a corrupted pst file. Search for the one you are currently using, and move it from it's location, then start Outlook. If it was your pst file, Outlook should open, and allow you to set everything up as new. Just be aware that anything that you've saved in Outlook is stored in that pst file.

Thanks Paperlantern, will give it a try on Monday when I get back to work (it's for the work computer, where nobody else has seen the problem before).

Muadib, what's a pst file? Is it in the Outlook folder? I'm not familiar with Outlook at all. I use Eudora at home.

The Outlook.pst file is where outlook stores everything. It can be in the Outlook folder, but doesn't have to be. The following link will tell you how to look for it on your pc. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA011124801033.aspx

The file might be hidden though, so you may have to unhide it so be able to see it. Once you know where it is, manually move it from where Outlook show it. That way when outlook doesn't see it, it will make a new one.

I tried both solutions and I think this one fixed it! Thank you so much!!
