Unable to Create a Screen Name for AIM

I downloaded the newest AIM and since I do not have a screen name yet I went to the website where you create one. Typed in my name, password, etc and when I clicked Submit, I end up getting a dialog box that says, "Sorry, we're not able to register you right now. Please try again later."

The thing about this is that I've tried creating a screen name before and I keep getting the same message.

Has anyone else had this problem?

wierd, have you tried through aim program or no ? instead of the web ?

I'm not sure how to do this. When I load up AIM I get the dialog where you type in your screen name and password, and if you don't have one and click "Get a Screen Name" it will bring you to the website. Maybe I'll try different screen names and see if that'll work but I doubt it...

EDIT: Tried a couple different screen names, no go. Bah

I made my aim name ages ago, so.. lol

one of my coworkers had that problem on their machine. created his account on mine and it went through using the same SN. might want to try that...
