Unable to change information in profile

When ever I try to change information in my profile, such as state I live in, or my avatar, I click save and then it refreshes and nothing has changed. Do I have to make a certain # of posts before I can change stuff?

Try turning off any software firewalls you may be running while you update your profile. That should do it.

what? why would anything I'm running on my comptuer effect how I change something on a web page!?
I'll try it, but does anyone else have this problem?

At the top of Forum Issues it says, in red, "Please search before posting..."
If you had, you would have found threads such as the following:

Cannot change "Signature" in my profile
Editing my Profile problem
I'm trying to change my profile,
Why can't i change my profile

all with the same answers.

EDIT: Kay, after going on my tower I was able to change my stuff. This is stupid though. <rhetorical>Shouldn't you be able to change your info from ANY computer?</rhetorical>

The trick is knowing how to operate the equipment that you have.
