I am having problems accessing the Internet with my 2 Windows 2000 pc's.
Here is the general layout.
-DSL Modem-
-RT3111 Netgear Router-
-8 Port Hub-
-2 Windows 2000 PC's ,1 Linux 6.1 box
I am currently with SWBell services and I have had this problem before. Basically the router will obtain an IP but when I try to open up Netscape or IE5.5 it gives me page cannot be displayed. But if i got to my Linux box I can get on the internet without a problem. This happen to me about a month ago with the same problems but eventually cleared up after a few days. Is there anything that I should check to make sure the router is setup correctly? Or is there a way to release the Dynamic address that my ISP has provided so I can get a different IP address. Although I dont know why My linux box would be able to get on the internet if there was a problem with the Dynamic Ip address. A friend had told me that on his Linksys there is a button to release the dhcp address and I was wondering if I can do the same? Or should i be looking elsewhere? Just running out of things to try on this.
Thanks for the help..
Brian
