Unable to access certain parts of sites

I can browse most websites just fine but I'm not able to do certain things. For example I can go to sbc yahoo email and read emails but if I try to send an email or delete one I get a page cannot be found. That is just one example but several sites are doing this such as windows update.

Since this isn't my machine I don't know if there were any changes does recently.

I've reset IE to it's defaults, ran virus and spyware scans, norton, kaspersky, spyware doctor and all came up clean.

I've done a google search and came up with several solutions but nothing has worked, ie checking services reregistering dll's, etc.

I'm looking for any solutions.

Have you tried an alternate browser?

Does IE have GoogleBar installed? I've heard that it can cause issues such as what you're describing.

None of thos fixes worked:|

The same thing happens in firefox as well. It appears to be the router but I replaced it with a different one and I get the same thing.

The network setup looks like this:

cayman 3000 router with two wan IP's, one segment that is connected to one of the IP's has no issues with any websites. The other IP goes to a rwireless outer (which has been replaced) any computer connected to the wireless router has issues.

I tried connecting directly to the cayman router but I didn't get to an admin page (I was directly connected to it and recieved an IP via dhcp).

Why one network segment would work and not the other I have no idea:|

Why don't you set your Router to assign IP's to the computers thru DHCP ? ?
You will also need to set your computer NIC Card to get the IP thru DHCP
On the Input port of the Router set it to the IP address provided by your ISP
if they gave you a Static IP ... it may be Dynamic in which case you need to
set the Router Input Port accordiingly ... If your problem is ONLY with Wireless
check your SSID and Encryption Type / Password on both the Router and the PC
It is also possible that a Firewall is Blocking access to some sites

I've tried both dhcp and manual IP's, same thing.

I called sbc and they said they were having some issues with their smtp servers. That might explain some of my problems but I think they were just bs-ing me:|

Just to give you an example of what it's doing.
If I go to hotmail, I cannot get past the login page. If I check the routers log (MS wireless router) it shows that it's blocking a wan request from 81.176.69.71:80 to my IP.

Why is it blocking the request? I've tried turning the built in firewall off and on and nothing else is set to filter anything but it still blocks sites from communicating back in forth with these systems:|

I believe I have fixed it but I wont know tomorrow. All I did (which is what I wanted to do but could because people were still using the connection) was reset the cayman modem.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the sbc tech and came back to it after everyone was gone.

I hate stupid easy fixes😱
