Ok so my wife and her mom ended up surprising me on Black Friday and got me the UN55EH6001 for $799. Well Best Buy is having a deal on the PN51E7000 for $999 plus you get a $200 gift card.

The problem I'm having is I've never owned a 120hz LED LCD and so far I haven't been that impressed with it. I've noticed lag on it and it really doesn't look that great in my opinion.

I'm not really interested in the 3D capability with the E7000 but it being a Smart TV will be nice. What would you guys do? Sacrifice size for overall quality and more features?

Also, our viewing distance is anywhere from 6-8 feet.

Tough one. The Plasma will definitely look better and be better to game on, but losing screen size is not cool.

I'm sure I'll catch a lot of flack for saying this but I'm opting for the non smart TVs. You can get all the internet features etc. from a basic wifi ready blu ray player without the cost. The more they cram into these new sets the more things there are to fail. Reliability seems to be the issue more than picture many times these days.

If the TV is in a bright room that is where the plasmas tend to lose ground over LED. They tend to be washed out by sunlight. If your room is sunny that may be a consideration. Have you looked at any of the new 240Hz refresh rate LED televisions if motion is an issue for you.

Sounds to me like you already made up your mind you don't like the picture on the LED.

Just my 2 cents worth. :)
