I've built several computers based on XP and Various chipsets, but just recently I put together a machine using an IBM GXP75 and the Shuttle AK31A. Installation was a breeze, the machine functioned fine for several days, but without obvious reason started giving the blue screen error upon boot of " unmountable_boot_volume" and would not boot any further. The only remedy was to go to the console and do a chkdsk, which found a few errors and enabled the machine to boot. Now it only comes up now and again, but is capable of being fixed by doing a chkdsk /p or fixmbr.

Any ideas?

I had the same error (WIN XP EPOX 8kha+) It seems the via 4 in 1 drivers I was loading were causing the problem. I got a suggestion from INSANE 3D he said not load the dirvers just use the XP default drivers. (KNOCK ON WOOD) Seemed to have fixed my problem!
