Umodding a swap modded ps2

I don't know anything about ps2 modding but my friend wants to sell me his ps2 which is premodded with the swap (annoying) mod. He's only selling it for $80 with a controller so i was wondering 1: if this is a good deal, 2: if i can unmod it and remod the ps2.

It's a decent deal but it might not be worth it if you have to unmod it. Also, during modding, some surface mount resistors are sometimes taken out and they'd be difficult to get back on especially if you don't know what component you need specifically.

Your friend may be able to get a better price on ebay or on a PS forum where there are a lot of modders. Premodded stuff commands a price premium in places like that.
