This is what I found today in the "guru" section of my local newspaper:

DEAR ABBY: Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a severe allergy to cold. I cannot touch, eat, breathe or be exposed to cold temperatures without serious risk to my life in the form of anaphylactic shock. Over the course of the last two years, I have learned how to manage this allergy and avoid most triggers, with the exception of the elements during winter months. I applied for and was issued a handicapped permit by the state that allows me to park as close as possible to buildings so I am exposed for the shortest time possible.

With the exception of this severe allergy, I am a young, healthy, 25-year-old female. I have no physical disability. When I park in a handicapped space and get out of my car, I get accusing looks, glares, comments muttered under people's breaths, and one man even shook his head at me -- like, "How dare you?"

I never know how to respond. It makes me feel embarrassed, angry and guilty. I avoid parking in handicapped spaces unless it is absolutely unavoidable due to extreme wind, cold, snow, ice, etc.

Can you advise me how to handle these situations? And please remind people that just because a person doesn't have an obvious physical deformity it doesn't mean he or she isn't eligible for handicapped parking. -- SCAPEGOATED IN SYRACUSE, N.Y.

Methinks she should not give a damn about what strangers think. If she must, she can fire off an angry rant like Julianne Moore does in Magnolia (with the pharmacist).

If she has this allergy, she should consider surrendering her handicap pass and move somewhere further south...

Hmmm....I wonder if I could get a *sneeze* handicap parking pass? *sneeze sniffle*

I would be more interested in Abby's response. My wife has Crohns disease, and she has a handicapped placard, and there is nothing that anyone can see is wrong with her.
No one has even looked sideways at her.

DEAR ABBY: Two years ago I was diagnosed with a severe allergy to fat women in spandex. I cannot touch, eat, or be exposed to them without serious risk to my life in the form of anaphylactic shock. Over the course of the last two years I have learned how to manage this allergy, and avoid most triggers, such as Target, Kmart, and Walmart, with the exception of Lowes, and Home Depot. I applied for, and was issued a blinder permit by the state, which allows that I will only be exposed for the shortest time possible.
With the exception of this sever allergy, I have no other physical disabilities, but when I park in the blinder space and get out of my car I get accusing looks, glares, and comments muttered under their breath, and one woman even shook her head at me,-- like, " How dare you not like my fat ass cramed into these tight, leopard print spandex pants".
I never know how to respond. It makes me feel embarrassed for them. I avoid parking in the blinder spaces unless it is absolutely unavoidable due to the need to buy stuff, etc.
Can you advise me how to handle these situations? And please remind people that just because a person wears blinders, it doesn't mean he or she isn't eligible to neff on ATOT.--- RUNZWITHSIZORZ IN OUT THERE USA

Better story..

DEAR ABBY: I am 25 years old and still a virgin. I work as a stripper. Outside of work I am just a normal girl, studying for my bachelor's degree in nursing.

I am friendly, attractive and outgoing, but no man has ever tried to approach or even talk to me when I'm not dancing naked. Is there something wrong with me? -- "TASSLES" IN FORT LAUDERDALE

AFAIK there is no antigen for "cold"

Yeah, sounds like crap to me. For all I know there is a medical condition that makes people very sensitive to cold, but it certainly isn't an "allergy." Besides, anaphylactic shock? How did she make the age of 25 in New York if that were true?

Methinks she should invest in a jacket.

I'm really curious as to how she behaves normally that she's a 25yr old virgin stripper.
