So now the RIAA, it is reported here in the above link, would like to ban copyrighted works from being used in electronics that are novel or not 'traditional'. . .

Lets freeze the state of innovation right here - forever.

The worst part is that those in Congress who will be voting on this have no idea or even care of the consequences. They just like the RIAA and it's money.

I'm not too worried, extreme things like this have always been opposed by other industry groups like the BSA that actually would benefit from new inventions in this field. And the thing is, they have a LOT more money than the RIAA.

Although if I was a citizen of the state of Oregon, Senator Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) would have lost ANY approval from me for even sponsering this bill. For all you guys from there who previously supported or still support him, I would reconsider your votes~
