Umax Vista 8s Scanner and Windows 2000

I emailed Umax US a couple of days ago. They responded today with a message saying that my scanner was no longer supported and would not work under Windows 2000. It's funny though that the Umax European site told me to use Magic Scan v4.3 and things would work fine for my scanner. They did, and it has been working for 2 days now without problems. Just goes to show you, check all the different sites for a company and you might get different or needed information. My scanner works better than ever under Windows 2000. Do you think maybe they wanted me to buy a new scanner.
