Umax scanner problem.

I have an Astra 3400 scanner and using the Vistascan software. I have used it for occasional scanning with no problems.
The problem I'm now having with it is that when I try a scan, it will run the scan and everything appears normal but the image is completely blank....nothing there at all. It's as if I scanned an empty sheet of paper.
I have run the scanner test and it tests fine. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Vistascan software. Now I am out of ideas.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
