UMAX 3400 Scanner & WinXP

Can anyone suggest how I can get a UMAX Astra 3400 scanner (USB) to work with Windows XP Pro? XP sees the scanner and says it?s working properly. I installed the latest Windows 2000 drivers. However, when I run the scanner test it tells me it can?t link to the scanner.

i have just got this scanner for my church. all u need to do is remove whatever u have installed on the XP and then just reboot the machine. XP has the native driver supports of this scanner and u can just use it under the image and scanner.

bump because that sounds about right. i kept wondering why my wingman extreme wasn't recognized by win me and such. realized FINALLY after i got wingman basic (free from od) and usb version ($3.88 upgrade to help $15 off $50 coupon) working fine--and logitech gaming mouse just connecting when i plugged it IN fine, just needed to go to control settings and set it up
