Um... wtf?! Plane (I think) just passed right over my house

I was sitting here are the computer, when all of a sudden I hear what sounds like a plane passing right over my house. My brain registers it as that sound when you are at an airport and a plane is coming in to land right near/over you. I recognize it and dismiss it...

...untill with a jolt I think "wtf!?!... I'm at my house not at the airport!" Sometimes planes pass overhead, but WAY up in the sky and you can barely hear them. This was so loud and close I could feel the vibrations and the dog started barking.

I ran outside and it was really loud, but I couldn't see any plane (it is overcast though). Lasted for about 10-15 seconds before it started fading.

Maybe the Military was conducting some sort of test... but I don't think we have any airbases anywhere near here (Eugene, OR).

😕

That happens to me sometimes (in Hawaii.) It usually is a plane. When it is, I just hope it's an American plane.

But see, it doesn't happen to me sometimes. I have lived here 11 years and this is the FIRST time it has happened to my knowledge.

I was actually a bit worried because there is an Airport about 20 minutes away and I was thinking maybe the plane had a fuel leak and was running out of fuel, and was about to crash or something.

we get low flyby's all the time.

it sucks... the military isnt supposed to do it, but...who you gonna complain to? it's annoying as hell when you're trying to sleep... (that's when they usually do it, at night)

i guess itd be weird if you dont have it happen much. im not sure if you mean the occasional (quite occasional where i live) very loud jet liner flying over or some kind of special explosive sound.

It sure would suck if the Japanese pulled another sneak attack...

lol, yeah.

I think we're more prepared this time though, plus it is a state now, not just a colony.

WWII - 2: Revenge of the Japanese, coming soon to a theater near you (Pun definitely intended).😀
