I *think* the home inspector saw this and it was normal, but i really dont remember.

there is water buildup inside the concrete block sides to my house.... note that this concrete block only goes up about 3-4 feet or so, then it's normal stick frame.

We got a really hard rain and it doesn't come close to the height of the floor.... in other words, water can't get on the floor - I'm more worried about mold or something like that.

I stuck a piece of plastic down there to try and disturb the water.

Try using a branch. If you poke the water hard enough, it should move on it's own.

it's like when it rains the water gets in, but then can't get out.

those look like cinder blocks.

If it can cause the dirt underneath the block to shift, then yes: it is a problem.

So, this is a crawlspace?

Might I suggest you post this on the Newsgroup alt.home.repair

You'll get your answer pretty fast there.

In that case my house was built with sticks made out of stone and brick.

i would think you should purchase a sump pump.

we get water under our foundation during hard rains and the sump pump dumps the water outside the house.

They should be on a concrete footing, not dirt.

i have no idea what you're talking about. english?

Stick built: The house is built by going to a lumber yard, ordering a bunch of lumber such as 2x4's (which aren't 2" by 4" fyi), then assembling it on site

Modular/non-stick built: walls and other large portions built in a factory, shipped to site, then put together like legos.
