im running the distributed.net client and for my d.net ID i put in my e mail adress (assuming thats what im supposed to do) and i notice how everyone with an ID has a numeric id. im confused.

What happens is that after the client processes some work units and sends them to distributed.net, distributed.net will assign you a user id. That is the numeric id you will need to sign up to join Team Anandtech, if that is your intention. 🙂

You must wait 24 to 48 hours for the Work Units to be processed by distributed.net before you can get your password by going here: RC5 Stats Lookup or here: OGR Stats Lookup and entering your email address, going to the bottom of the page and clicking on the "Please send me my password" button.

DNET will email your password and numeric user id to the email address you entered into the client configuration.

Once you have your ID and password you can join Team Anandtech! 😀
