I saw the 'Salbree popcorn bowl' and it sounded good; it says prime delivery, but a date of April 21.

Yeah, they are getting hammered due to the human malware. They are trying to hire approx. 100,000 people to help meet demand. Walmart&Sam's, even 7-11, are all getting hammered and on a hiring frenzy.

Should have noted supply chain disruption is playing its part too.

Better get the car ready to roll to Target. Or Wallmart, etc. But how about CDW? No food there. And I have Prime too. But not waiting a week for groceries which have worked great and on time from Amazon for over 6 months prior to this week.

There's delivery from restaurants but then you feel obligated to tip them. Too expensive overall for most. Unless you have the cheapest food delivered like from the dollar menus from fast food places and only if the meals are big enough.

I ordered some Advantage ll drops Wed. evening and they got here on Saturday. 3 days.
I think it just depends what you order and how close the warehouse is to you.

Hammered, with what? They have no essentials to sell or ship so this is more like 'take it easy folks and don't over do it while we make excuses for getting the job done something next month'.

I ordered a new power supply for my PC on Sunday last. It didn't ship until Thursday and got here on Friday. With the delivery time of <24 hours via USPS I know it shipped from the warehouse 30 minutes north of where I live. That means it took 4 days for fulfillment to process the order (the item was in stock the whole time).

I think it's just going to be like this for a couple weeks until hoarders get their satisfaction.

Hopefully by then once the stupid hoarders get their basement full of TP, Paper towels, and they have things like meat and milk spoil from not being able to eat it fast enough we can hopefully get store shelves restocked.

Right, Amazon decided not to sell anything because they like losing money for no good reason.

FYI: PrimeNow is so busy right now, it's hard to get delivery window times. They are selling so much. It's going to be like that in any city where they have PrimeNow or Amazon Fresh available. They are shifting resources to essential items only. To say they do not have any, quite frankly is stupid.

Oh, Amazon is just getting better. I clicked a link where the price was $16.90. The site showed $17.90, the price when I posted 10 hours ago. Went back to order, it's gone up another dollar.

This is the new norm.
Same date for any new mattress or pretty much anything else.

Amazon IS retail these days with some others. All of NY is closed, period, except for things like food and other essentials. Amazon is now where I have to get anything and screw me if I want it sooner. It's just a natural first order consequence of the virus and one of the less serious ones.

The real trouble starts when there are no workers to pick crops and food rots in the fields. People start having to cut back on food and farms go out of business which means pretty much they are gone for good and runaway inflation starts with food which is pretty much inelastic.

Ahh, the good old days when I had to wait a month for a mattress.

Perhaps we need a good real crisis every few generations because collectively we're the I WANT IT NOW spoiled society.

I ain't going to the store again.

Which is EXACTLY why Amazon had to shift their sales & distribution focus to essential items. Of course you're going to have idiots saying things like "they don't sell essential items". Yeah, they're dumb.

Think about it. They've reduced their massive inventory to a handful of categories. Plus they are hiring 100,000 employees to help deal with distribution.

The pricing change is completely normal for Amazon. Their algorithm adjust depending on supply and demand and competitor pricing. This has been known for many, many years.

Bottom line, they are trying to navigate the supply restrictions, avoid price gouging and optimize their buying/selling power to supply people with what they want/need. There's not too many companies that are sophisticated and large enough to do that so quickly.

Hell, I've used PrimeNow, twice in the past 2 days, to get essentials that we've been otherwise unable to find in normal (3 large) grocery stores in the past few days. What they are doing is right and pretty awesome.

The thing may not be here and is on its way from China in the middle of a container still being filled at a loading dock in Xian.
