Um......a little virus help, cant open task manager or regedit :\

Well, I guess I got myself a virus. Norton calls it "Bloodhound.Pack" or something like that, hiding itself as wupdated.exe in windows/system32. I cant delete the file, because its in use. And I cant turn it off, because every time I open task manager, it shuts itself off in about 1 second, allowing me to not get to any programs.

Any help on shutting down processes w/o task manager? Or removing this damned thing?

Oh, and just noticed now that I cant open up regedit either. Great. Reformat! *

Have you tried an online virus scanner? Btw Norton sucks.

It very well could be a virus. Norton's Hueristic Detection will name any unknown virus Bloodhound.

Try updating your Norton's or downloading the Mcafee Stinger here: Stinger

I went into safe mode and turned off anything suspicious in msconfig, and deleted the registry keys I found to get rid of the wupdated.exe virus, but I still cant get into regedit or task manager with a regular boot-up :\
