UltraX-Connect heats up

I was doing some benchmark on my system to see if my recent overclock is stable and after about thirty minutes the Ulra X-Connect heats up and generates a lot of heat throughout the whole system. Man, the Prescott is hot already and the psu fan is blowing down on it. Good thing I have it water cooled. Psu is hot to the touch after an hour. I don't think this is normal for a psu, any1 got a X-Connect that behaves the same way and why?
 
Out of curiosity, does your PSU make a buzzing noise under really heavy load?

And yea, me and a friend both bought those ultra psu's and they really do warm up. I'd guess its a norm for that PSU.

We both ended up getting rid of them because of the buzzing noise and the heat they produce.
 
Now that you mention it, yeah I sometimes hear a high pitch buzzing noise, I could not figure out where it was coming from. I did some eliminating to the fans, meaning I'd unplug them two at a time to see if one of the fans are causing the noise but it's not the fans. The psu gets so hot that it warms up the room. I'm taking it off tonight.
 
Serves you right for ignoring all the warnings about the X-Connect all over the web... 😉 Or did you buy yours before the warnings appeared - just an early adopter catching an arrow?

Why the heck is your PSU fan blowing on your cpu?
 
Zepper..I bought the X-Connect before the warnings...cRazYdood, I should have explaine myself much better, I have a case that's got a fan above it and it is blowing in and the psu is almost right above it
 
No wonder. That fan should be BLOWING OUT, not in. You have that fan right below the PSU blowing in, all it does is suck hot air being expelled by the PSU right back into the case.

Reverse that fan, pronto.
 
Could it be because I modded the motherboard? I have a p4c800-E dlx and succesfuly did the droop mod and my cpu vcore when set at 1.575 at bios, cpu-z reads 1.616-1.632 and the same with MBM
