Seems like they are keeping a level of cheesiness to this that is necessary to properly portray the original. Ultraman uses karate and judo to wreck kaiju and cities. Then he uses the energy beam to BBQ them. :awe: My inner child is stoked for this.

I'll wait for netflix on this one, but will watch it for sure. It does look pretty bad, though it can't be sharknado bad....

im in. ultraman is great. i remember when they broke the monster of the week format and had him lose when his timer ran out. as a little kid it blew my mind that he didnt save the day at the end of the episode. like the WWE of kaiju world, it just made for a bigger comeback next episode.

love how they went with the metal sheen but kept the crinkled silver paint on rubber diving suit texture around the ankles.

Been too long to remember for myself. But I feel the same way about the suit.

this is going to be epic bad, yet awesome
Exactly. It was my/our? generation's Power Rangers. Trying to make it good would be an effort in futility, but updating it and staying loyal to the roots, will be a fun popcorn flick. At least for those of us that were fans as kids, and maybe our own kids too.
