Ultralight crashes 150 ft from work, Pilot DOA!

Sorry no pics 🙁

So the power goes out and one of my employees comes in saying a plane just crashed into the the power lines.
So of course I'm like holy shite I better go check this out! As i get out side I can see all these people running toward the crash , I get there and power lines are hanging all over and in the ditch is this small crumpled up plane with the
guys leg sticking out and a power line hanging across it, he was not moving and evidently people had taken a look and he was presumed dead. It was hard to believe a body could even fit in that wreckage it looked like someone
took a three man pup tent crumpled it up and threw plane parts on top of it.

It was really pretty dangerous with one power pole broken halfway up and looking like a strong gust of wind would bring it down. Of course everyone in in that area was trying to get a look, I'm actually amazed no one ran into one of the live downed power lines. The fire crew got all the looky lews out of there pretty quick and then started the extraction process. My employee said the guy was flying about seventy five feet above the ground and just banked hard down into the power lines and landed into the ditch, said he heard the engine rev up after it hit so evidently he had power, probably will never know what happened for sure. Poor guy!

The upside was no power for the rest of the afternoon so i sent everyone home early including myself, Woot!

Many years back there was a pilot that committed suicide by crashing his plane into the local reservoir. The state police pulled the engine out with a winch and pulled the meaty bits off it with gloves and ziplock bags. The engine then fell on a cops leg, so they had to pry him out from under it and send him off.

Planes wrecks are nasty. :Q

This happened 7 years ago in my home town... full size 2 passenger plane though, knocked power out for the entire town!!

I went to look at it, but I am not registering just to look at the article.

I didn't either, but the pic is on the front page. I figured some people may want to see the picture.
