Would you get better performance (overall), if you wanted to use ultra320 scsi drives, to buy a server grade motherboard with scsi on-board or by buying the very highest performing non-server type motherboard (with fastest possible processor(s), memory & bus speed) and use an ultra320 controller card ?

Thanks.

Seeing that a standard desktop mainboard would have the U320 controller on 32-bit 33 MHz, limiting throughput to about 95 MB/s, yes, you'd definitely make better use of U320 SCSI if you gave it a proper PCI-X slot.
