I bought an Ultra X psu yesterday and installed it this morning. It really did
clean up the wiring inside my case. The modulare plugin design is the easiest
and cleanest setup i've seen. I've read 3 reviews. One in Maximum PC mag
and two online. The Maximum review was a 6 psu test and they gave the
Ultra a 4 out of 10. The two online reviews were positive.
Does anyone have any info or experience with this ps ?
Any links to reviews I can check out ? So far all the voltages are stable
and within 5% +/- range.
Any input would be welcome.

Well that's good to here that yours hasn't had any problems. Did you
notice any increase in noise in general ? Like fans ect...
I did and thought it might be due too decreased noise dampening
with all the wires gone and increased air flow. I did noticed a 1 to 2 degree
drop in temp after installing it.

originally they were stiff but a reviewer complained about that and they revised them. supposedly they're better now. personally the only one that gave me trouble with stiffness was the big fat atx one.

I read that they come with a 3-year warranty which a lot of people don't know. I still would stick with something else though, but I guess it's too late in your case.

The cables are not to stiff. Plus they now include a sata cable that was not
available when they first came out. The warrenty is in fact 3 years and
is no questions asked unless it's obviuse that you took it apart or dropped
in your swimming pool. I bought at a retail PC CLUB store close by and I can
return it within 15 days so I'm not stuck with it.

Its not bad for what you're getting, it has decent amperages and for stock operation its more than enough. For OCing, its not the best out there but it's not the worst either.
