Maybe this will actually allow electric cars/trains to be feasable.
Can wait to put one in my RC10, not to mention my HTPC.
 
Wow, site has been slashdotted already. I remember seeing something like this a few weeks ago. Sounds similar to the TMD fan, but on a larger scale. I wonder what the instantaneous torque is on a motor like this. Normal electric motors produce maximum torque @ stall.
