Ultra psu. Is it any good?

No. Ultra is a crap manufacturer. Get a PSU from a reputable manufacturer like Fortron, Sparkle, Seasonic, Enermax, Antec, etc.

all tests were performed at 25c.....
which interpreted means its actually probably a 300watt PSU when you test it at 40c or 50c.

I would run from that thing so fast.
Additionally I would stay away from Antec or Seasonic.

Zippy as well as OCZ ort even fortron are all good.

Stay away from Antec and Seasonic? Those are both top tier psu's, why avoid them?

Antec isn't looking so good these days, Greenman. I see nothing wrong with Seasonic though.

I have had mine now for close to a year without any problems. I know three others the same. I see a lot of bad feelings about these PSUs and would really like to know why. Here are a few of the reviews from the first page goggle brought up. A pretty reputable group I think.

I think most people can admit it's not the worst manufacturer out there, but it's also not the best... I would go towards other brands over this, but the Ultra is definitely better than a straight up Generic brand that's for sure.
