I just downloaded this one RC5 client, and it was preconfigured for a specific team...and I forgot whether it's for Anandtech or Hardocp...
How can I tell who I'm cracking for?

BTW: I did the benchmark, and I got 1.514 keys/sec
On a BP6, Dual 366's @ 550, 256mb ram, cas2, winME.

Please help!!

Viperoni,
Open up the distributed.net DNETC.INI file, and look for the following parms:

[parameters]
id=xxxxx@xxxxxxx.xxx

This will tell you what email addy you are cracking under.

Post the first part of the email addy that's in front of the @ here and we can help you determine what team you are cracking for.

I didn't think WinME was dual processor capable? The client is only using one processor in that case 1.5m/keys would be right. You would need NT or Linux or even klinux for dual processors to function properly.

I checked that file, ID = viperoni@home.com

That's what I setup RC5 to use...

<< and it was preconfigured for a specific team...and I forgot whether it's for Anandtech or Hardocp... >>

So "1.5Mkeys" is ok for a 550?
cool.

How much would a Duron @ 850 (or more :p) get?

Thanks!

Viperoni,
If you were running an SMP capable OS as stated above, that dualy would be getting around 3MKeys/s too.

The stats haven't completed updating for yesterday, so I coulnd't find you on DNET yet. You have to submit some completed work units, have them processed by DNET before you join a team. I will check later after the stats for yesterday complete to see if I can find you.

Both my boxes are dual boot also, make sure you install the client under both OS's. I learned my lesson the hard way, one of my kids rebooted into 98 and left it there overnight. I almost had a damn heart attack :Q when I checked my stats the following day.

I just installed under 98 and then copied my .ini file into the 98 install to get all my old settings.

Looks like you're on your own at the moment. The easiest way to make sure that you crack for Team Anandtech would be to use one of the top 2 setup floppies on this page to automatically become a Borg!!! If you don't mind loosing the few blocks you have done so far, simply uninstall your current client from add/remove programs in control panel and run setup of the TA Cube specific disk from a floppy. Easy as pie.

Welcome to the Team. :)

LOL! :D

Gotta love the Borg, way to much trouble to click the "join TA link"... But what a recruiter, mucho new recruits in just a week or two. Keep it up!

In the Win32 for 24/7 connections, generic Team Atech, should I get the service or standard version?
Which one is quicker or easier to use?

Viperoni,
Just so you know, there is no requirement to join a mini-team, TA CUBE included. If you prefer, just join Team Anandtech and then check out all the mini-teams and decide if you would like to participate in those.

All you need to do is crack a few blocks under your email, wait 24 hours for the stats to be updated, then go into your DNET stats page:

Viperoni Stats Page

and at the bottom, request your password.
Once you get the password emailed to you, go to the Team Anandtech page:
Team Anandtech
and click on the " I want to join this team" link and follow the instructions.

I'm glad to hear you will be joining Team Anandtech! :D

Welcome :D

Standard it is! :)

If I join that TA Cube (Borg?), will my blocks still count for the whole ATech team?

Viperoni,

All of the mini teams are part of Team AnandTech, so if you join any of them, you will be part of the soon to be number one on the world TA!:D
