I am wondering if anyone has modify the Ultra MicroFly case so that it can accomodate taller standup HSF, like Zalman 9500? Seems that we just need to make more space for the HSF by cutting out the metal bridge above the CPU socket.

I want to get Zalman 9500 instead of 7000 coz I want the HSF to align with the 120mm fan at the back. This mod sounds pretty simple to me... just not sure if it works or not. What do you think?

I have heard of such a mod, but never seen it done (or have done it myself, obviously).

If you're looking to lower your temps, I found replacing at least the two vertical clear side panels with mesh will do so significantly. There's not a lot of moving air in there, except for the super small slits underneath the handle. My temps dropped 5-8deg C. from that simple mod, and had the benefit of cooling the ENTIRE system (including the vid card).
