Ultra Laptop 15 inch class

My current laptop, a Samsung Series 7 Cronos with i7 3615QM cpu, is getting a little beat up so I'm beginning to look for a replacement. What I want is a 15 inch class Windows laptop that's slim (Ultra type) but has a very high resolution screen and 2 HD slots.

My current Sammy is actually 17.3 inches and came with a 1TB HD and slim DVD drive that I swapped out for a second HD. I then replaced the primary HD with a 256GB SSD and made the 1TB a secondary storage in place of the DVD. I'd like my new laptop to be able to have two drives and if that means removing the DVD drive and replacing it with a HD so be it.

So, what are some of the best options that have a super high resolution screen and the ability to have a SSD primary drive as well as a secondary HD? A 4K screen would be ideal but I don't believe there are any laptops with 4K screens just yet -- correct me if I'm wrong..

I should mention that I'm a photographer so having a secondary HD is necessary -- my current laptop has a 2TB 2.5 inch, 9.5mm drive.

You can sort of do it with the XPS 15 QHD+ screen with the smaller 61Whr battery. You can then fit a 2.5" 7mm drive and a mSATA drive.

Can you use an USB3 portable hd in place of a 2nd hd slot?

I have a number of USB3 portable HD's that I use to backup the second HD in my laptop and I guess I could adopt that as the storage HD though it won't be as useful. I use a utility to mirror copy the laptop storage drive to USB HD and doing that with two USB drives won't be as easy and more likely to screw things up.

The thing is, my current laptop is 17.3 inches and I'm looking to go a bit smaller with 15.6 inches being a bit more travel friendly but being smaller there's less room for two HD's or even an optical drive that can be converted to HD when it's of the Ultra laptop style.

i just got the xps 15 QHD+ Touch with the 93Whr battery and this thing is sick. what a piece of machinery this is.

I got the mid-level XPS 15 with QHD+ but with the non-SSD hard drive because I wanted to use my own. And yes, it is a very impressive laptop and when coding with Visual Studio, I am constantly amazed at how good the text looks.

The Dell XPS does look pretty nice but boy is it spendy. It looks like in order to get the 93WHr battery you need to buy it with the SSD and that like $2500 -- ouch!

Is there any other 15 inch class ultra laptops with QHD display? It seems Samsung doesn't yet offer that kind of display in the 15 inch class.

I can wait for a while, I'm in no immediate need for a new laptop, though my current one has blue screened a few times in the last couple weeks.
