Ultra External Enclosure with Segate 250GB

Not bad but i prefer my owen stuff get an enclosure frm compusa or somebody for 30 and put in anydrive you want.

I can put in any drive I want right if I choose to. It said any 3.5 hard disk. ShellGuy, what you meant was that it comes with an ATA-100? That's why it is better to get my own case and drive? Anybody knows if it is loud?
 
It's overpriced, I have seen nicer ones for less cash. Checksome review sites and get the proper benchmark data. The performance differance between them can be huge.
 
I take back my statement, for $99 you get 250GB drive (I missed that) and the enclosure. Personaly I would buy it just for the drive and stuff the enclosure in the closet somewhere or put an older drive in it for backups.
 
Hi Googer, thanks for the suggestion. My concern is the noise from the fan. I read some reviews and people are saying the fan could get loud. I have a pretty quiet system at home. It would be nice to have a quiet external drive as well.

I am going to use it to back up pictures and DV video files. Also, I will do incremental backup for my important files. So, basically, it will be used for backup purpose. Do you guys think that I can get a better deal somewhere else?

It's not like you are going to a rock concert and need to worry about wearing earplugs, so don't let the noise be a concern.
