I can't get my computer up and running if i connect my harddisk to the UDMA ATA66 connector on my ABIT BE6 motherboard. I've managed it once, but withaout all my cards(except AGP). I the had to insert one card at a time and boot in between. After i inserted my SCSI card it stopped working. I've tried to put my PCI cards in all combinations and made sure that the PCI slot 3 was either unused or contained a card which supported IRQ sharing(3Com 3C905B NIC). I remembered to set the computer to boot UDMA66 before C: and using the 80 connector cable. I gave up after hours of trying getting it to work.

My computer setup:

- Abit BE6
- P3 500mhz
- 384 MB ram
- Creative TNT 2 Ultra TV out
- 3com 3C905B NIC(PCI)
- Adaptec 2904 50 pin SCSI card
- Creative Soundblaster LIVE value 1024
- Yamaha CDRW 2100S - 16x - SCSI
- Sony 52x cdrom IDE
- Western Digital WD205BA

I'm out of ideas and hope someone can help me

Check the Abit site - they have a FAQ regarding boot sequence with the UDMA 66 controller and a SCSI. It's in the BIOS setup...

I've read the FAQ and the manual several times. I sent an e-mail to abit as well, but I only got one reply and it didn't help alot.

Thanks anyway

I forgot to tell that i flashed the bios. The one I'm using is the latest. I also tested a beta bios that had some fixes for ATA 100 disks, but it didn't work with that one either. I went back to the latest "official" bios because the other one made my system unstable.
