My sis wants to drop another hard drive into her PC and I have a spare one laying around. It's ultra ATA 133. She's not sure what her interface is. It's around 3-4 years old to give you a time-frame. Would the ATA/133 work with a different interface (100? 66? 33?), just connecting it regularly? Would it be better (faster, more stable, etc.) to go through a PCI serial ATA card?

3-4 yrs ago..could be as slow as ata33(even pio..doubtful tho) if just for storage/performance best use a pci ide controller card(uata66 or better) if just storage..as a slave to her current hd..well..the system might be limiting factor but it should be fine as long as drive is below 120GB(40 in some instances..motherboard bios limitation)..gl
