I just installed Redhat 6.2 (DOH! I just realized 7.0 has been released) and I'm trying to get my Promise Ultra 66 IDE controller to run with it. I downloaded the beta drivers from the website and typed 'insmod ultra66.o' but I got

kernel-module version mismatch
ultra66.0 was compiled for kernel version 2.2.5-15 while this kernel is version 2.2.14-5.0.

Am I screwed? If I can't get my ultra 66 to work within linux I'll have to install windows 2000 again...and I don't wanna do that!

Try to get the new kernel from kernel.org. The newer kernels (2.4.0XXX) should have support for the promise card.
Another thing to do is download the RH 7 or Mandrake 7.2. They might have support for the card out of the box.(you don't have to recompile)

or you can get the kernel version 2.2.5-15, compile it and then then use the beta drivers(?)
