Well the Fan is not that noisy, but for some reason ever since i installed the psu it makes a high pitched noise (very annoying). Anyone else have this problem?

I also have the high pitched noise which seems to occur when the cpu is under load. I have not been able to solve the issue.

Sounds like spotty QC, mine's fine and I'm running a C2D full tilt crunching rosetta@home.

Got my paypal rebate today... I only sent in the form on Monday at the earliest; not bad...

Power supply is fine for me; I'm even thinking about grabbing another one for $25 even if I can't get another rebate. That'd only be $12 a PS...

The price is not free. It is $25. Then add in tax for some and then the cost of a stamp. Then your time. Then maybe you'll get the rebate.

Free would be a $0 charge up front.

Nothing is free Einstein. It's generally accepted in any Hot Deals website/forum that "Free" means + tax, + shipping, and whatnot.

Don't waste your time arguing semantics, this is a decent deal for a backup PSU or an average computer.

Not to mention many people have had great success through onrebate.com.

$25 rebate; pay an extra $2.50 for expedited delivery, and you'll expect your check 1-3 days after they recieve your rebate.

i figure after tax, maybe shipping, stamps/time, rebate deduction, it cost about $8-10, + shipping(was 9.13 to cali for me), ~$16+ when your done with it all.

many antec psu 350watt at my local store is $20 out the door and some times $10AR as well on a good frys day/ or with case $10-15 with a case.

Comparing my antec one with this 400watt one, its a true dual 12v line and the amp combine is 30 compare to this one low 20 single/split. antec weight much heavier as well.

this psu probably will go in low end secondary box and it should be great for it, but ill probably wait and paid couple extra dollar to get the insurance of a low end antec with a case.

The rebate is good for 2 weeks, so perhaps they will offer free shipping again (fingers crossed).

Yes, I missed the "Free shipping" being removed! :(

Oh well, I don't need it and my Antec Neo480 might become a spare soon if I decide to get a Seasonic anyway! :Q

the psu is fairly quiet, but reliability is poor. I bought 1 V350 and 7 V400's. Installed the V350 and a few V400's. The V350 died after 1 week; one V400 had a non-working fan and went up in smokes, literally, within minutes.

Got my rebate approved today, should be getting it in a few days. I'll have it before I even have to pay the charge to my credit card.

Boy am I glad I decided to get the 430W Cooler Master from Newegg instead. It was $16 plus tax after rebate but it installed without a hitch and has been running fine since I put it in 2 weeks ago.

Thank for the heads up again!

Already have another on order with Express processing for the rebate. Last time I sent the rebate papers on 9/11 and received the rebate today. Certainly not the 3-5 days they cackle about, but I'll take it.

Just FYI, in a former life I was heavily involved with the R&D of switching power supplies. While the units I worked with were industrial grade, from what I can see through the vents, these Ultra look just as well made as my Enermax which cost much, much more.

The 500W Ultra I got back in July is purring away nicely.

Let me get this straight, if the rebate offer number is different, then it won't get invalidated due to those "limit 1 per household" things? If so, then I'm gonna score another one of these with free shipping.

A different offer is a different offer. Nothing to do with the original offer which is limited to one as you described. This one is also limited to "one"! :)

People from FW and other areas have ordered many times in this fashion and never had a problem. Of course, YMMV! :)
