Morrison was not a moron. His music was incredible.

"Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land"

No contest. Jim Morrison was a flake. The worst part about the Doors was Jim Morrison. I like most of their stuff, but if Jim is singing, I just try and tune him out. The Doors of the 21st Century that have been touring lately is a great show. Not having Jim is fine by me.

Dylan is an icon the world over. He fought and pioneered civil rights using his music. Morrison did nothing to advance anything but constant drug abuse.

Morrison was a better singer, Dylan better song writer. I like both their music...

I would rate Morrison as weirder.
If given a choice between listening to one of them, I'd definitely pick the Doors. Dylan songs sound best when sung by someone else.

I wrote a song a long time ago. I've been waiting for the right time to release it:
It's called "Bob Dylan's dead!"

He sucks.

Morrison was quite possibly the most overrated artist of the 20th century. The Doors were terrible.

Dylan served as a cornerstone for the rock & roll of the the 1960's-1980's. Comparing the Doors to Dylan is like comparing them to the fvcking Beatles. Anybody who picks morrison is a fool.

Mr. Mojo Risin'

You can never expect something like that from Dylan

in all fairness, Dylan is only very slightly below Jim Morrison!

I think Dylan would probably make a better poet, but as far as a musician goes, Dylan sucked. His songs just weren't very good. You could give me the best piece of poetry of all time and I can make a song out of it, but that song will suck since I'm not a musician. On the other hand, you can make a great piece of music even if it had no words at all.

 Dylan is probably the most covered musician of that era. Musicians love his songs.

I should have stated myself more clearly.I know a lot of musicians like Dylan, I'm just saying that he wasn't a good singer/performer. I like the songs of his that others have covered, but the actual Dylan-performed song just doesn't sound good to me, mostly because of his horrible voice.

Dylan is a 1000x the songwriter Morrison was. I guess Morrison was prolly the better performer though. I voted for Dylan though because his lyrics are just more meaningful, and thoughtful.

Let's not forget about some of the other giants of intellectual songwriting such as 50 Cent:

"I love you like a fat kid love cake"- extremely powerful words.

For all practical reasons they are both dead - so it wouldn't be a very entertaining fight,

but Morrison might win the swimsuit competition.

Dylan vs. Morrison may be the only physical fight Dylan could win at this stage in the game.
