Given that only 15.4" WUXGA panels exist, you won't get it under 5lbs for a while 😉 Best 15.4" machines today are in the lower 6-lbs category

Good point...didn't know that WUXGA was limited to panel sizees. Even so, I could probably still "live" with an SXGA/SXGA+ (i.e., at least 1024px in height) with dedicated graphics, at under 5 lbs. But, I don't think even thank that exists, does it?

the lightest 15.4" laptop with dedicated graphics = Asus Z70Va (or otherwise known as the Z70V "Refresh"?)?

15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050 resolution) with a 128mb ATI Radeon Mobility X700....weighs in at around ~5.6lbs, not bad at all!

Also, there's the Dell 600m/D600 (14.1" SXGA+ 1400x1050 res LCD + ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 32mb/64mb video card) and Dell D610 (14.1" SXGA+ 1400x1050 res LCD + ATI Radeon Mobility X300 32mb/64mb video card) weighing in at ~5.3lbs.

I'm probably missing a few models.

Am I missing something? There are plenty of 17" WUXGA notebook panels out there (i.e. the ones used on the Inspiron 9300 and XPS M170, the Clevo M570A-based Sager NP5720, the Clevo D900K-based Athlon64 X2 beast you linked to on WidowPC, the P4 Clevo D900T, the Sony Vaio A series, the Alienware Area 51 M-5700, etc.). Sure, none of them is close to 5lbs., but WUXGA panels are not restricted to 15.4" screens.

I was referring to the fact that 15.4" are the smallest, as our conversation was towards <15" panels.

That's what I'd figured, but I thought I'd make sure.
