Street Fight has no rules. In which case, go for the groin, gouge the eyes, be brutally efficient. IIRC Seals are trained for that. Navy Seal FTW!

I think its closer to saying which one would be better at running OSX.

I think it's more like asking who's the better athelete - a world champion decathalon winner or winner of an individual event. As a whole, the decathalete is incredibly well rounded and a superb athlete. But he's going to lose to a world champion of any individual event.

trueness. well said

So the seal would be the all-around athlete?

In a real fight to the death with no rules and the right training (ie: trained to kill like a SEAL), the fight is generally over in a few seconds, and if you end up on the ground you're fucked.

MMA isn't trained for that.

i think it just depends on the mma vs the seal.. i mean there are big guys small guys in both.. and doesnt seem like a comparison you can do.. i dont care what kinda seal you are if its like a 180 pound person vs 300+ its not going to be a fair fight.. i personally carry 2 glocks just in case something like this happens.. so killster1 vs both them.. killster1 would win.. (i practice my quick draw / mag unleesh)

now if it was Israeli commando id choose Israeli.. but in this case id prob choose the mma since most of them are big mutha fers trained close to the same..

i was interpreting it as the MMA was the decathlete and he would lose to the seal (individual event)

Im going to say you dont know anything about Seal training, or MMA. A few seconds a kill, with bare hands? Do you honestly believe that a Seal can kill someone who has studied martial arts his whole life in a matter of seconds? Or is the part that they arent trained for the part where they end up on the ground? Please, enlighten us.

No.

People actually bleed in UFC and bones actually get broken.

UFC FTW.

People actually DIE in military combat, and SEALS are trained to kill. Anyone voting UFC has no idea what hey are talking about.

These make me laugh. Such a lack of knowledge of not only MMA but combat in general.

I didn't say kill in a few seconds, I said the fight would be over in a few seconds. Hit the groin, gouge the eyes, pull the hair (if any), bust the collarbone if you can and such.

And I don't know specifically how SEALS are trained, but I've got a decent bit of Krav Maga under my belt. I have an inkling of what I'm talking about. I also know that if you're on the ground and your opponent is still standing, you are at a major disadvantage.

By his logic guns are made for killing people... cars and cigarettes are not. People actually DIE from guns. Anyone saying that cars and cigarettes kill people have no idea what they are talking about.

I think what the MMA people here are forgetting is the pysch factor. There's a reason why only a handful of people make it through Seal training. In a fight even a highly trained martial artist can lose his nerve fighting outside of his element. MMA and similar fighters train to fight in an arena or cage match, they don't fear losing their lives. At most they might lose some rep or walk away with an injury. Seals have been trained to kill and to do it under unfavorable odds or conditions. It's not uncommon to hear about a martial artist get creamed in a street fight, so specialized training does'nt always mean you'll win in a fight. I don't doubt that some MMA fighters could take down a Seal, but I believe out of 10 fights the Seals would win more. Of course that's assuming this is a fight to the death, in the ring I'd probably give the nod to the MMA fighters.

People seem to forget that MMA is mixed martial arts. SEALs train in some mixed martial arts, but not nearly as much as someone who does MMA fights for a career. Navy SEALs are trained in a vast assortment of military abilities, a lot of which are tactical and team based.

Even in MMA fights it's usually nearly impossible to predict who will win the fight. Some vague "MMA fighter", without any background as to what martial arts and to what degree (are we talking a kickboxer or someone with a blackbelt in BJJ who'd be fine with taking the fight to the ground, or both, or what?), versus some vague "Navy SEAL" without even an inclination of either fighter's height or weight or age, let alone anything else, is retarded.

MMA doesn't necessarily mean UFC or some sort of show. It's extensive training in numerous martial arts, which can easily include all arts and physical training a SEAL would practice, which would most likely be MCMAP.

Anything could happen, and anyone saying it's surefire one would "easily kill" the other is way off base.

look at all these fat losers who sit on forums all day telling me that dumb gym queens are going to kick my ass.

do I look liek I give a shit? I make love to beautiful ladies, I'm not a fighter. You guys on the other hand LOVE it when men grapple with each other.

and the seals in that picture are really pathetic looking. I expected them to all look like Guile. Complete failure, as to be expected.

Sure a lot of them are strong, but most are feminine with the sole intention of keeping the butch ones company in the shower. Seals need to crack their rocks somehow, right?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

1. Not all of use are fat losers
2. Yeah, because every sport from boxing to MMA to football is definitely gay.
3. You expect them to look like a cartoon character who's arms are bigger than his head?
4. Yeah, because every guy who's physically and sexually confident enough to take his shirt off in front of other guys in close proximity is gay.

Fail.

True, and there are a lot of variables missing that could change the balance here. Still, most MMA fighters I've seen are trained in some combination of Muy Thai/Jiu Jitsu, hardly ever see military combat training. Maybe I'm just watching the wrong fights. :)

This is true. The big organizations usually feature fighters of the same sort of styles (usually like you said, a combination of kickboxing, muay thai, and BJJ) but that's not representative of MMA as a whole. If it were "the average UFC fighter", it'd bring more of a scope as to what the "MMA fighter" would be trained in.

OK lets clear something up. Elite MMA fighter faced BEST IN TEH FUCKING world. PROVEN FUCKING EXPERIENCE performs under pressure consistently. Not theory. Proven 30 wins against BEST and consistently beating them. Fuck crav maga, real hands on experience always wins. Show me an mma match where "crav maga" guy can do shit, not to mention it's poor man's juijitsu anyways.. A boxer with 1 year experience will rape "Kata Karate" or kung fu or any other non-contact sport. You just don't learn how to fight by doing theoretical training.

I don't claim I can beat either mma or seal guy. But I place my bets on MMA elite and I've given my reasons.
