yeah, since most pro fighters grew up in the best areas with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Your avatar is pretty reveiling though on your beliefs.

In the end the fight isn't fought though until it's won.

I like how people here think a SEAL is suddenly chuck norris because of a few weeks of training. SEALs get better with time but a pro-fighter does to and does it EVERYDAY usually.

Many pro-fighters would have no problem killing someone, some probably have already done so.

:Q

a few weeks? Those guys go through 30 months of training with a 90% dropout rate

That's just a few weeks compared to a lifetime for most pro fighters. I'd say more pro-fighters have seriously maimed/killed someone than SEALS.

Also I don't know where 30months comes from...I am PRETTY DAMN SURE the training is 30 weeks.

No it's 30 months. And what the hell are you talking about with the mma fighters killing more people?

Yeah, Im so sure that athletes have killed more people than soldiers... =/ Gimme a break.

either you watch too many movies or are too out of shape to realize the requirements in real life. Based on your avatar I bet you are the guy that I saw get knocked the fuck out claiming to be part of an army unit while the same guys were actually in the bar.

So you been to BUDS training recently? Go ahead and tell me the real life requirements. You better be something special making those kinds of claims. My avatar means I support the troops. ;)

why don't you share those requirements with all of us?

Why would I tell you when you said I was too out of shape to realize what the real requirements were? I don't know, so why don't YOU tell me?

You are the one professing otherwise. You a SEAL? Are you even in the military?

Outline the 30 month program please...

Professional fighters are a bit different than the typical athlete.

SEALS are usually just some bumpkin with a hair up his ass.

Yeah Im in the military, what does that have to do with anything? I already told you I don't know the outline of the training, but you obviously do since you said its much easier than I think. Making a claim like that you are ex spec ops, an absolute stud, or a loser sitting at his moms house. My guess is you wouldnt make it to day 2.

both of you are idiots about this. SEALS are not amazing hand to hand fighters. they are great in the situatuions they are needed. they train (and hard) for that.

MOST MMA fighters start off with wrestling, martial arts or such. i would say 90% of the time they start off at a young age.

IN a MMA fight (notice i say MMA fight. NOT a batlefield. there is a huge diffrence) i would put my money on the MMA fighter (really depends on who it is) nearly every time.

now if i need someone to go kill a bunch fo people and blow up a building i will call the SEALS

Fedor could kill anyone with just his stare.
His brother kills bears with his bare hands for sport.

This thread is retarded. Try putting an MMA fighter in the same situation as a SEAL, he'll end up crapping his pants day three.

I don't pretend to know exactly everything like some people in this thread, but instead of arguing out of your ass for the sake of not looking like a fool, try to take a breath, and realize there are more important things in life than arguing about hypotheticalities.

Lol well maybe you need to go back to school. The Wolff brothers are 7-3 and 2-0 in MMA. Then there are Brian Stann and Brandon Vera, ex military. What do you think the military does after they complete basic training (or for SEALs the 30 month training)? Do you think everyone sits around and says, "man basic training was hard 10 years ago"? They train all the time. For those who make a career of it, they train for over 20 years!

and i don't think anyone is saying (well maybe alky but he is nuts) that a MMA fighter could do a seals job. to expect that is just insane. hell there are very few in the world that can do it.

some are saying that SEALs are not the end all be all for HAND TO HAND. put a seal in a CAGE with a MMA fighter and the MMA guy has a damn good chance.

now you throw them out on the street with no rules? yeah diffrent story.

again he lost. 3 times. And has yet to hit the top talent. BUT i do expect them both to be damn good. they have the history (both have been in martial arts from a very young age..like a LOT of mma fighters).

I'm not saying SEALs would flounder and do bad in MMA. i am saying that (unlike you) that MMA fighters have a damn good chance against a SEAL.

MOST MMA fighters (like seals) train long hours for years. but unlike SEALS they don't train for everything. A MMA fighter just trains for fighting thats it. where a SEAL has a ton of other shit they need to be experts in.

if they would be competitive in MMA of the 2500 active seals youd think more than a few would be fighting... even temporary for the $ score... think about it

Depends on the situation and the context. It also depends on things like intellect. Both MMAs and SEALs are both trained to improvise, thing is, SEALs are trained to use their environment, they are incredibly badass. I met a SEAL who showed me how to kill someone with a credit card (No bull shit, although feel free to call it).
