My money's on the US Navy elite.

No.

People actually bleed in UFC and bones actually get broken.

UFC FTW.

You don't think SEALs bleed or get broken bones? Damn, they must be tough then. If they can kill without bleeding, my money is on them all the way.

UFC is actual fighting. It's like a boxing match with kicks, elbows, wrestling, strangling, and lots of blood. Although it's a lot tamer now than it used to be.

I also will pick the Seal because a Seal is trained to kill an enemy combatant in seconds with his bare hands. The Ultimate Fighter is also used to fighting within certain rules whereas the only rule the Seal has is "kill".
He'll be jamming one finger in the dude's eye, some more fingers to the throat to crush the windpipe, and then snapping his neck all in one fluid motion. He'll have more trouble getting the dude's blood out of his shirt.

The WWE has a much higher injury rate than the UFC and the blood is real too. If anything, compared to all the major sports out there MMA has some of the lowest injury rates..

this thread is so lame it's a bunch of dudes fantasizing about men grappling with each other whilst bashing their heads in and gouging eyes out.

99 times out of 100, the mixed martial artist wins.

Anyone who doesn't think so probably isn't very knowledgeable about MMA or the training that they go through.

yeah those guys look REAL tough

And they could still kick your ass 9 different ways with their pinky finger.

I pick the Seal. Just because they are soldiers doesnt mean they arent trained into hand to hand combat. Seals operate under stealth, where guns arent always the best way to take someone out.

in a 1 on 1 street fight you don't exactly get to be stealthy and go at someone from behind when they don't expect it, lol.

people shouldn't kid themselves about the training. the mma guy would win a street fight.

What I was talking about was the people who were saying Seals don't really train in hand to hand combat. I realize stealth isnt going to matter.

I could've clarified more I guess

Navy Seal is taught hand to hand techniques, including MMA.

However, I think probably UFC wins as that is all they do. Give the Navy Seal one thing that helps them, like give them both a knife, and Seal wins IMO.

we're not saying seals don't train hand to hand. we're saying they don't train in hand to hand compared to a UFC (ie, professional) fighter - someone who does nothing but train to fight in hand to hand.

i damn near guarantee you randy couture, chuck liddell, rampage jackson, GSP, etc. could kick the shit out of each of those guys.

After giving it a little thought, I think the better question is how many 5 year olds could each take?

Well, the Seal has a much greater understanding of war and combat related things - knives, guns, stealth, war tactics, etc. The UFC figher only trains for the one-on-one no weapon combat. If you had said an Israeli soldier, it would've been a sort of different story. Krav Maga would be an odd match for many MMA fighters since it utilizes unorthodox (and illegal in the UFC) moves. I say the UFC fighter wins against the seal. Give them both a knife, and the Seal wins. UFC fighter vs. Israeli soldier trained extensively in Krava Maga - I would say each would win 50% of the time.

I'd say it comes down to whoever wins the initiative roll.

In all honesty in a real life or death situation a Seal or Green Beret would kick any of those MMA guys asses. People don't understand that MMA guys do train to fight no question. But if you think they go through the training a seal or green beret does your kidding yourselves. Special forces people go through training to withstand pain, fight when injured, and fight to KILL THE ENEMY OR STAY ALIVE IN REAL LIFE COMBAT. They train in elements that will break down 90% of all men on the planet. There are no refs, cushy mats, and there are no rules in true hand to hand combat. On average a special forces guy would smoke an MMA fighter. Training to fight in a ring and training to kill behind enemy lines in real life is like night and day. I would bet 7-8 times out of 10 the MMA guy would go down hard.
