Lots of bass and a rolled off highs, but I found the bass to be excessive. It comes down to what sort of presentation you like, lots of detail or lots of bass. Go to head-fi.org to read up on these.

Depending on how similar the E3C's are, I don't recommend them, I have 2 pairs and don't really like them much after comparing to what else is out there. Maybe my issue with them is just the difference between IEM's and closed headphones? (I use the Sennheiser HD280's now)
