Argh, decided to try another ROM.

So far, it's very fast with the 3D app tray and live wallpaper using a modest overlock (800MHz).

Minimal lag the first time you open the tray, gone after that. Some apps don't seem to coexist that well with it. When you back out of an app, sometimes it leaves a black square in the middle of the app tray that goes away once you hit home.

I don't know if it's worth switching if you just installed a ROM. It's more like I wish I had gone with this one prior to Smoked Glass and the others.

BenchmarkPI: 3200-3500ms

Edit: 3d launcher does not work in landscape. "Seems" to run a little warmer than smoked glass.

Do you notice anything with the battery life at 800Mhz?

I OC'd mine to 700Mhz this morning. When I left for work, battery life was at 100%. I used Google Nav to get me there in a ~25min drive, arriving with the battery at 80%. I made two short, sub 4 minute phone calls and around 3 dozen text messages during the day. Also checked CNN twice with Dolphin. Left with the battery at about 60%. Used Google Nav to get home, more traffic made it a longer trip, around 35minutes. When I got home, the battery was around 40%. From there, I connected to my home wifi and sent many more text messages, dropping the battery down to around 15% before I plugged it in to charge.

I noticed a minor increase in the phone's responsiveness at 700Mhz though. I may need to put my car charger and cable back into the glove box again if I intend to keep it OC'd.

I'm going to see how the phone does at 1.1Ghz today with live wallpapers going and what not.

At 800Mhz, I didn't notice much of a difference in battery life from stock.

Went back to smoked glass. Started to notice other bugs with 3d launcher.

I use this ROM when v5 was released and it was pretty fast then but there were a lot of little minor glitches and force close errors for me. Pete's BB series is still my favorite but I'm using Cyanogen mod for the time being. I'm hoping this is my last week or 2 with the Droid because I'm itching for the Incredible (which may or may not be rootable).

Yeah, V8 was pretty solid but there were a few bugs that I just didn't want to live with knowing that Smoked Glass was bug free for me so far.

3D launcher doesn't work in landscape, 3D launcher opens to a black screen, if you back out of certain apps that were opened from the launcher, there would be a blank screen in the middle of the launcher, a couple random force closes.

2.5 hours unplugged, at 90%

GPS for 10 minutes and a couple of text messages. Aside from GPS, at below average use while at work.
