Those spinning ones seem the best. They are a fairly recent trend it seems but they are cheap! The only time I seen one really fail was when one of the stability things broke off which causes it to start spinning off balance and go upside down. But otherwise those things are so hard to beat.

Stripes are cool.

Seriously though a spining wedge might do the trick. With a lifting arm.

Something that can take being flipped over, without being put out of commission. The spinning ones seem cool, I think a good design would be one that could latch onto the other bot, then rip it apart with a saw blade.

in my experience with BattleBots, its not so much about the design... but the implementation! There are some great designs out there, but most of the time the simplest ones with the sturdiest construction win!

here's the best example I can think of Vlad the Impaler
anyone can come up with a box with fork-lift arm, but can do you do it as well as Gage Cauchois?

A thin low ramming rod with sharpened points sphereical wheels! you dont have to kill them, just deliver more hits and not die!

I say something similar to the VLAD, but have a stungun built in that fries the electronics inside of the other players.

The ones with a pick-axe or hammer are way overrated. Personally, I'd go with a speedy, low profile, wedge design.
